Mail

exim

exim is a simple mail server. It can be configured with the command eximconfig

Files associated with exim:

/etc/mailname
/etc/exim.conf
/etc/email-addresses
/etc/aliases

nmh

Configuration files can be found in /etc/nmh. I had problems using smtp as the transport mechanism in /etc/nmh/mts.conf. But everything seems to work if you set mts: sendmail.

exmh

Configuration files:

Mime

The command update-mine can be used to manage the commands associated with different mime types.

Configuration files:

/etc/mailcap.order
/etc/mailcap
/etc/mime.types

mailcap.order may look like:

    mime-support:*/*
    imagemagick:image/*
    mozilla:text/html
    less:text/*
    emacs:text/*
