Install

Under debian select the package task-x-window-system-core This package installs all the minumum things you need to run X. It uses dexter to create the configuration file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.

When you run dexter you need to know:

• Horizontal Screen Frequency range
• Vertical Screen Frequency range
• Mouse device (this may be relayed through apm)
• Mouse type (if you choose apm's relay device and your relaying raw events then you'll need to hand edit XF86Config-4).
